Exquisite products from Andersen Furniture
You've probably already heard of them - Andersen Furniture - and all the fine products they have designed over time.
They have proven their worth in furniture, storage, and home interior design, and with their broad product portfolio, they contribute to setting a high standard within Danish design.
Over 100 years of history
Andersen Furniture was founded back in 1916 and has since refined their craftsmanship and design philosophy. The company has always been able to create furniture and accessories that are not only beautiful but also functional and durable. Their skilled craftsmanship, eye for detail, and quality are clearly reflected in many of their products, whether it's large pieces of furniture or small figurines and home accessories.
Toilet roll holder from Andersen Furniture
There are many products to highlight, but their wooden toilet roll holder is a truly fine item - and created in the same style as their towel holder.
Elegant, robust, and made from solid materials, it perfectly suits a modern bathroom.
One of the advantages of wooden products is precisely their long durability compared to, for example, plastic. Wood lasts for many years, and often it is oiled and treated to ensure it lasts for a very long time.
Wood adds something soft, warm, and organic to any decor, and that was also my thought when I designed my Hvidkilde wooden toilet roll holder, which you see in the picture below. I wanted to achieve a simple expression without too much edge - but with a lot of 'soft vibes'.
It is made of solid oak with curved lines and a smart mounting system, so it can hang on both the left and right side of the toilet, and it only costs 229 Danish kroner.

Paper towel holder in wood
Another of their beautiful products is their paper towel holders. Here again, they have chosen to go with solid oak and a solution with a small 'handle' at the top and a solid base at the bottom.
When I was designing my paper towel holder, my focus was again on creating something that would break the angular lines typically found in a kitchen, and for my Brolykke wooden paper towel holder, I chose to use a 10 mm thick base (fitted with felt pads) and a solid rod with a 'handle' at the top to break both the circular and rectangular shapes.
After various tests, I arrived at the model you can see below, which is solid, light, and elegant at the same time - and priced at 179 Danish kroner.

Floating shelves in Danish design
Among floating shelves, Andersen Furniture has also created several products that could easily become classics, if they aren't already.
There are modern interpretations of the Amager shelf, partitioned shelves, gallery shelves, and other exciting products.
Floating shelves in wood come in many different variations and materials. Like Andersen, I have chosen to design and manufacture my floating shelves in solid oak, and my intention from the start was to maintain soft forms.
The Egebjerg floating shelf was the first I designed, based on the idea of a floating circle disappearing into the wall. Later came the Kirkeby floating shelf - shown below - with a renewed focus on organic, soft curves and a curved front edge, which was later expanded with a more right-angled version.

In 2024, the Dalmose shelf arrived with the desire to combine the square with rounded corners - and immediately after, the Thyregod wooden corner shelf was created, actually inspired by interest from users and customers who requested a solid wood corner shelf with hidden mounting, unique design, and excellent quality (bottom picture).
Danish design and diversity
It's great that so many Danes are embarking on designing exquisite wooden products - and sticking to something that is typically Danish: namely, quality, simplicity, and stylish design.
