Recycling of packaging
Packaging with the environment in mind
One of the things I have been doing for a long time now is to use recycled cardboard boxes when I send out goods.
Far too many cardboard boxes are simply thrown away after being used once - it's a shame, because they can easily be reused several times - both for the benefit of the environment and for your wallet and mine.
You might think that a cardboard box can't cost very much, but they quickly add up to 4-5 kroner per box. box, when you are a small shop like mine that does not have the opportunity to buy hundreds of boxes per walk.
Therefore, I have made an agreement with a local (physical) store, where I can stand upside down in their cardboard container when I need it.
Here I find a lot of cardboard boxes that are perfect - and which are fine to send goods in.
Recycling of box filling
At the same time, I also recycle box fillings and other packaging when I receive goods from my joiner and in the private packages I receive, just as I have friends and acquaintances who eagerly collect both boxes and packaging fillings.
Therefore, it may be that your order comes in a cardboard box with a logo, tape, label remnants or something else, but there is a good reason.
By keeping the cost of packaging down, I can also make sure to keep my shipping price down at a time when everything else is going up in price.
Replacement of plastic packaging
Some goods are not suitable to be packed in a cardboard box - for example, the Strangways floating shelves , which require special packaging, just as some goods take up so little that it would be wasteful to send them in a large cardboard box.
As far as possible, I send these goods in other types of packaging that are as environmentally friendly as possible.
I use e.g. bubble envelopes made from quick grass and produced in a climate-neutral factory - and in the vast majority of my packaging I have replaced e.g. bubble wrap with corrugated cardboard and cellophane bags with paper bags made of recycled paper.
In some cases, I have not found a completely good substitute for a plastic bag, as I also want your order to arrive safely - but I am constantly looking for new ways to switch to more environmentally friendly types of packaging.
